Chin Augmentation

How often do you look at yourself in profile? Whether in a mirror or a photograph, we typically see ourselves face forward. But the rest of our world views us multi-dimensionally—from every angle. If you could view yourself as others do, you would see how a chin that is small or underdeveloped can undermine the balance of your entire face. It can also make your nose look larger and more conspicuous. A double chin may simply be the result of a chin that is too short. Chin augmentation is sometimes performed with rhinoplasty or nose reshaping to create a more harmonious profile.

Chin augmentation is a simple procedure. If only a little augmentation is necessary, Dr. Lorenc will make a small incision underneath the chin. He will create a small pocket above the chin bone and below the muscle, where he may place a custom-sized chin implant for a natural fit. The implant is positioned in the pocket where it will remain firmly in place. Any scar from an incision made under the chin will be negligible. In some cases, dermal fillers such as Restylane or Perlane or your own fat may also be used to enhance your chin contours.
