Eyelid Surgery — Blepharoplasty
Sometimes, even after a great night’s sleep, your eyes still look tired and droopy-lidded. It’s hard to feel alive and vibrant with loose, baggy skin framing your eyes.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Each year, thousands of men and women choose eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, to help restore a more energetic and youthful appearance. Dr. Lorenc’s approach corrects sagging eyelids, removes the fatty pouches beneath the eyes and removes the excess skin from the upper eyelids.
Eyelid surgery can have a very dramatic effect on the way you look, and Dr. Lorenc frequently performs this procedure in conjunction with other facial surgery such as a face lift, brow lift or laser skin resurfacing. To correct problems of the upper eyelids, he places fine incisions in the crease above each eye, and removes a thin crescent of excess skin and muscle. Then, he closes the incisions with very fine sutures.
To remove fatty deposits beneath the eyes, incisions are placed on the inside of the lower eyelids. After the fat is removed the small incisions are left to heal naturally. When excess skin and muscle are removed from the lower lids, the incisions are placed in the natural "smile" creases below the lash line.
Following blepharoplasty surgery, the eye area will be bruised and swollen for up to two weeks. Hairline scars tend to fade in about two months. And the results will be an eye opener that brightens up—and lightens up—your entire face.
