Fat transplantation is your adipose (fat) cells harvested from one area of your body and injected into an area lacking volume. This safe, long lasting non-allergenic injectible therapy requires no pre-testing. Your own fat cells are then injected back into the depressed dermal areas of your face to restore elasticity, volume and smoothness.
Dr. Lorenc feels fat injections are ideal for naso labial folds around the mouth, lines above the lips, frown lines between the brows, scars and lip augmentation. This treatment may also be used to enhance cheekbones and increase definition of the chin and jawline. Typically, two to three fat injection treatments are required over a six to eight week period to correct most depressions.
Improvements are progressive. After the first treatment, you will see a marked difference. Each additional fat transplantation treatment provides more improvement. Preliminary results show that most patients obtain a 75% or better correction for more than one year after the final treatment. Some patients have experienced improvements lasting three or more years.
During this minimally invasive procedure, Dr. Lorenc obtains material from the suprapubic area or other regions of your body. Upon immediate processing under stringently sterile operating room conditions in Dr. Lorenc's operating suite, the harvested fat cells are ready for your treatment by injection.
Discomfort is minimal and brief. Although most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite, Dr. Lorenc has found that some may require a local anesthetic such as is used during dental procedures.
