Nasal Surgery

Second only to your eyes, your nose is the most prominent facial feature and a defining characteristic. If you are unhappy with the appearance of your nose, you may consider a different size or shape and also wish to repair damage caused by an injury or breathing difficulties. Dr. Lorenc will consult with you about your concerns, expectations, and the probable outcome of a nasal surgery procedure. Dr. Lorenc’s technique involves incisions inside the nose, where they are invisible, as he sculpts skin and tissue, along with bone and cartilage, into your desired new shape. Although the change in your appearance will be immediate and dramatic, the final result may not be realized for several months. Family and friends may say that they don’t see a major difference in your appearance, which is actually the goal of a successful rhinoplasty. The idea is not to create a new nose, but to enhance and improve the nose you already have. While you are making a decision about nasal surgery, Dr. Lorenc may discuss some additional facial procedures that may enhance the effects, such as a chin augmentation if needed.

When rhinoplasty is performed for cosmetic purposes, it is usually not covered by health insurance. However, when nose surgery is performed to correct nasal problems that interfere with breathing, health coverage may apply. It is advisable to check with your insurance provider for information about the extent of this coverage.
