What is Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery)?

Eyelid surgery lifts the upper eyelids and removes the look of puffiness and sagging to the lower lids. Each year, hundreds of thousands of men and women choose eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, to help restore a more energetic and youthful appearance. This procedure creates a dramatic, yet virtually undetectable improvement to one’s appearance.

Who is an ideal candidate?

You may be a good candidate for eyelid surgery if you experience saggy eyelids. If you have excessive fatty pouches/skin. Blepharoplasty may be right for you if you have muscle laxity or hollow sockets.

What to expect during the procedure

Tiny incisions are made in the crease just above each eye. A thin crescent of excess skin and muscle is then removed. The incision is strategically placed to blend in with the natural fold of the eye.

Recovery Process

You may experience mild discomfort at the incision sites for a few days. Your vision may also be temporarily slightly blurry due to swelling. Your head should be elevated for the first few days. The stitches will be removed within a week or so. You may resume normal activity in three to five days following surgery.
