
Z. Paul Lorenc, MD, FACS (pron: Lawrence) is a world-renowned board-certified aesthetic plastic surgeon who balances surgical expertise with an acute aesthetic sense of composition and proportion in the areas of facial rejuvenation, breast enhancement and body contouring. After finishing Medical School, Dr.Lorenc was able to secure a position at the premier Surgical Residency Program at New York University Medical Center.
His initial interest in Cardiothoracic Surgery was quickly re-directed towards his true passion of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. After completing a Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Dr.Lorenc underwent Fellowship training in Micro-vascular Surgery at the world-renowned University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. His final fellowship was focused on Aesthetic Surgery and completed at New York University Medical Center.
Since establishing his private Park Avenue practice, Dr. Lorenc has been actively involved in research, development and advancement of new aesthetic surgical and non-surgical techniques and procedures. He is internationally recognized for creating endoscopic techniques, most notably the endoscopic forehead lift, and holds numerous US patents. As a recognized authority in facial anatomy Dr. Lorenc is a pioneer in the development of the latest generation of dermal fillers and neurotoxins, leading various clinical trials for FDA approval in the US. Dr. Lorenc is often called upon to appear in front of the FDA in a number of capacities.
He has presented data in front of their advisory panels prior to product / drug approval, based on his expertise and the number of patents he holds (23). One of the most notable, is a bio-absorbable soft tissue suspension device, US Patent No. 5,611,814, issued in 1997. The invention of this revolutionary device made procedures less invasive, thereby allowing patients a quicker recovery and eliminated scarring. He has also appeared and testified on several projects that involve bringing various medical devices through the regulatory process.He continues to participate in many ground-breaking studies every year, investigating the safety and efficacy of new devices and procedures.
A sought-after public speaker by leading medical societies and universities, Dr. Lorenc travels the globe making presentations, teaching and lecturing. He is a frequent contributor to medical journals, including the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery, the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, Aesthetic Surgery Journal, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Journal and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery among others, as well as editing medical publications and contributing chapters to aesthetic surgery textbooks. He has published well over 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers. He is the author of the international bestselling book, A Little Work…Behind The Doors Of A Park Avenue Plastic Surgeon (St. Martin’s Press, 2004), a revealing look inside the exclusive and evolving world of aesthetic procedures in New York City.
