I am proud to share that my paper, "A Comprehensive Review of the Medical and Cosmetic Applications of Exosomes in Dermatology," has been recognized by Wiley as a top-viewed article in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology for 2024, ranking within the top 10% of all papers published by the journal that year.

It is a meaningful acknowledgment, and one that speaks to something I hear from patients regularly: genuine curiosity about what exosomes are, what the science actually says, and whether this technology has a place in their care.

So, What Are Exosomes?

Exosomes are tiny messenger particles naturally produced by your own cells. Their job is to carry information between cells, helping regulate healing, regeneration, and communication throughout the body. Think of them as the body's internal postal system for biological signals.

In dermatology and aesthetics, researchers have become increasingly interested in how exosomes can be harnessed to support skin renewal, wound healing, collagen production, and more. The field has moved quickly, and so has the conversation around what exosome-based treatments can realistically deliver.

Why This Research Matters

The enthusiasm around exosomes in aesthetics has outpaced the science in some corners of the market. My goal in writing this paper was to provide clinicians and researchers with a rigorous, thorough look at where the evidence stands: what the peer-reviewed literature actually supports, where the gaps are, and what questions still need answering before exosome therapies become standard of care.

That kind of honest, evidence-based analysis is what I bring to my practice every day. The fact that clinicians and researchers around the world found this work valuable enough to make it one of the most-read papers in the journal is gratifying.

What This Means for Patients

If you have been curious about exosome treatments, whether you have seen them mentioned on social media, heard about them from friends, or come across them in your own research, you deserve a straightforward conversation about the current state of the science.

At my practice, I stay at the leading edge of what is happening in regenerative aesthetics precisely because I want to offer my patients options that are both innovative and grounded in evidence. Exosomes represent a genuinely exciting frontier. And like any frontier, they deserve careful, thoughtful navigation.

I look forward to continuing that conversation with you.
